The Italian Astronomical Society (SAIt), as the fundamental principle of its statute
says, has the priority to "... promote and spread astronomical studies and knowledge...".
As Italian Spectroscopy Society in 1871, SAIt has a long and fascinating history,sand counts among its members professional astronomers, teachers and amateur astronomers, all of them interested in the science of the Universe.
The institutional branches of the Society are the Board of Directors which, according to the Society’s set of rules
, puts into practice the indications coming from the annual members’ General Meeting, and the Board of Auditors
